Tickleberry 2(d)Ni Review

Submitted by: Marco

Several months ago, I purchased via eBay a Tickleberry device, which I now see is being marketed directly (I just got a marketing email from them). Of course, it arrived while I was out of town, and my wife opened the package - oh well, another story there, probably...

Anyway, the device is very well made. It consists of a single heavy stainless-steel 'A' ring, with two posts mounted on one side to secure the stainless-steel cock tube. One of the posts has three holes drilled through it to insert the lock, similar to the single center post on a CB-x000. The (apparently beta) unit I received had no spacers, but the web site ( http://www.tickleberry.co.uk/pages/chastitydevice.html ) indicates that it now ships with them, and that the 'A' ring is available in two sizes.

Even without any spacers, using the closest locking hole, the device fit me perfectly right out of the package. Despite its heft (13 oz), it's very comfortable - much more so than a Remy's unit. I even find it more comfortable than a CB-3000; somehow, the thicker 'A' ring seems to shield my balls somewhat, whereas they always seemed to be getting mildly crushed as I moved around in the CB-3000. And for some inexplicable reason, the typical burning-like irration behind the scrotum doesn't seem to occur, even without using any lubricant at all. This surprises me since the ring is quite heavy. The finish of the device is superb, too - not a single sharp edge or burr anywhere.

Security of the unit is mixed. There's absolutely no way that the device can be removed without the key, and the fact that it's all pretty heavy-duty metal gives me a much more "locked-in" feeling. The standard pull-out problem of any non-pierced device still exists, but I believe it would be extremely difficult to get back in after pulling out - much more so than with a CB-3000. And as I just mentioned, there's *no way* that the device can be removed from your balls without breaking something...

Well, almost. It turns out that the two posts are secured from the back of the 'A' ring with Allen-head cap screws. When I first got the unit, I had to loosen and rotate one of them in order to get my lock to fit. It would be easy to just remove it completely to remove the device. I solved this by filling the holes with JB-Weld. For even higher security, it would be easy to do a couple of brief tacks with a welder.

The device I got had an open tube end, which pretty much negated its effectiveness in preventing masturbation. I could just reach in the end of the tube with a finger, and easily rub the sweet spot just behind the head on the bottom to achieve orgasm. Not totally comfortable, but not at all effective, either. I see on the web site that Tickleberry now offers a model with a closed end, and one with a bar as well. The bar could easily be locked into a piercing, I guess, although it looks to me like it's not really in the correct place to make that work right. However, I think that this still wouldn't prevent masturbation. The closed end would, but the drain hole is both small and not in the right place (it's exactly centered, when it should be on the upper portion of the end cap). I believe that urinating would be somewhat mess, and drainage would probably not be enough to be healthy.

Before I saw Tickleberry's other models, I decided to fix the open-end problem myself. I machined a plug out of aluminum to slip fit into the tube end, and milled out a pee-hole that approximated the style of my Remy tube (which always seemed completely convenient during urination) as well as a small drain hole on the bottom edge. I then secured this into the tube end with JB-Weld epoxy (good to 600 degrees F, so it's safe for autoclaving). This solved the problem, and had the additional benefit of rounding the end of the tube somewhat. Although there were no sharp edges, the abrupt end of the tube was previously abrading both my thigh and my jeans quite a bit; the plug I made has a soft radius on the edge that makes it much more comfortable for practical long-term wear.

In an attempt to solve the pull-out problem, I threaded one end of some 1/4" stainless tubing, rounded off the other, and bent it to follow the curve of the penis tube. I then threaded a hole in a trial plug I'd made for the end of the penis tube, and rigidly mounted the stainless tubing there. The idea was that the 1/4" tubing would be inserted into the urethra as a sound, and would extend nearly to the base of the penis at the abdominal wall. However, it didn't work. Besides not being very comfortable, I found that I could always stretch things enough to slide the tube out of the urethra, and then pull my penis out of the device. So, back to the drawing board. I have another non-piercing idea that might work - if it does, I'll certainly post it here. If not, it would be easy to adapt this unit for use with either a P.A. or frenum piercing.

To wrap up this (overly long, I'm afraid) post, the Tickleberry device is comfortable and very well made, although it suffers from a couple of insecurity problems. However, the price it's being sold for (95 British Pounds - about $180) makes it competitive with a CB-3000, and it's *much* more of a product. Delivery time was a bit long (a few weeks), but in my case that may have been because eBay cancelled the auction *after* I completed the purchase, so I don't know if Tickleberry received the order in a timely manner. Overall, recommended.
