Reducing Irritation From Plastic LocksSubmitted by: chastitechMy Wife and I prefer the plastic locks to metal locks. They're lighter, don't rust, and She doesn't have to worry about duplicated keys, emergency keys, etc. In fact, She can leave the plastic locks out where I can get to them, for all the good it will do me. They're serialized, so all She has to do is write down in Her handwriting the latest number (She uses a fine leather-bound book from http://www.epica.com for this). We're both software professionals, so the idea of security based on numbers instead of on physical locks appeals to us. But those locks sure do have sharp edges and corners! These cause irritation (at least for me). I had some CB-3000/Curve Hinge Sleeve from http://www.sufferware.com. I cut some shorter, and slipped it over the lock. This eliminated the irritation. This isn't a perfect solution, because the sleeve material stays slightly damp, but it's better than sharp edges.
