Gerecke ReviewedSubmitted by: BadladI recently won a Gerecke steel chastity device in an online auction and was very keen to compare it with my previous experiences of the CB2000 and the Curve. Although both of the lightweight devices were fun 'toys', I have never really been convinced that anything other than stainless steel would ensure security. There were several Gerecke devices up for auction - some with an open ended tube, others with a series of bars preventing access and one totally enclosed curved tube with holes drilled in the end to allow urination. I opted for the last design, as I was seeking a device which would not allow any form of illicit stimulation. Having won the item, dealing directly with Frank was a real pleasure. We corresponded and determined which size ring was appropriate and delivery from Germany to the UK took just five days. I have now been wearing the device constantly for the past 48 hours. Unlike the CB2000 which I never truly found to be secure, the Gerecke really does contain the penis. I have tried to slip out of it when not aroused, but there is no possibility! This device really does work and the high standard of craftsmanship is obvious. Although obviously heavier than any of the acrylic devices, the Gerecke isn't so obtrusive that it is uncomfortable. If anything, the stainless steel construction just adds to the feeling of being 'contained securely' and there is the added advantage of not having a belt to cope with. A partial erection is possible, although any form of penile stimulation is absolutely out of the question. In this device, masturbation or intercourse is just not going to happen! Hygiene presents slightly more of an issue than either the CB2000 or the Curve owing to the absence of side openings; however a bath resolves any problems and the tube drains immediately. A shower probably won't be as effective on its own - but perhaps a combination of a shower and a cup of warm water in which to dip the device during bathing should be fine. Urination while standing is perfectly possible, although the curved tube has to be lifted up during the process and carefully dried afterwards. When wearing the device, the smooth, curved design also means that there is no potentially embarrassing revelation as long as the trousers aren't skin-tight. Of course, being stainless steel, the device will set off security scanners at airports and high security buildings. The obvious solution is to either avoid these when wearing it, or else arrange a temporary substitution with an acrylic device before travelling. So are there are problems with the Gerecke device? As far as price, security, quality and service are concerned, none as far as I can tell. One minor warning - when fitting the tube to the ring, there are two pointed steel pegs and unless you are very careful you can get a nasty nip when skin becomes trapped. However, with care this is not a significant issue. Being steel, there is also much less room for error when measuring up for the ring. My advice would be to allow an extra 2mm for the sake of future comfort. Unlike the CB2000 or the Curve, there is no provision for spacers between the ring and the tube, so one size does have to fit all. However, Frank is very helpful and may be able to advise on design modifications. All in all, the best device I've tried to date and I'd certainly recommend the Gerecke as combining great value for money with a high degree of real security. Well done Frank!
