CB2K Review

This is a copy of a letter I just sent to Doris Miller. It is a review after almost a years wearing of the CB2K. Thought that you could use it.

Doris,

End of May will be the one year mark of wearing the CB2K. Not continuously, but consistently for the entire year.

Some comments:

• Comfort is great, with the exceptions being faulty sanitation and excessive edema, both of which I will cover in later comments. The CB2K is a comfortable design, if a bit bulky. Another distraction is the slot at the outer end, the gap in the top edge of the D ring. This slot will catch on seams, zippers, hems and flaps of fabric, jerking the CB2K around or, more likely, giving you a good nip right on the tip of the penis. A pair of undershorts helps prevent this but underwear has its own problems (see 3, below).
• Security can be slack, or it can be painfully tight. Slack occurs when an A ring that is too large is used. During erection, everything fits fine. During periods of deep relaxation, (at wake up in the morning, just after a hot shower, etc.) when using a ring that is too large, the flaccid penis slides right out the back of the A ring. The testicles ooze their way out quite quickly. Changing to a smaller diameter A prevents this, but brings us to "...painfully tight." An A ring that fits right for security can easily be too small. This is readily apparent when "hot spots" begin to make themselves known around the perimeter of the ring. Stopping to tug on one's testicles to get them pulled out a little further and ease the bite is very difficult in polite society.
• Which brings me to the number one piece of advice for anyone interested in wearing the CB2K. Wash, hot and soapy, every day and use a hairdryer to fully dry out every crevice, every groin, every spot of skin that can be manipulated, pulled, twisted, stretched or otherwise brought to feel the warm blast of air. I am convinced that the majority of "hot bites" that I have had thus far are sanitation related. Damp skin drags on the acrylic, right where the tightest compression occurs, inside the A ring, behind the testicles. Damp skin, under a slow chafing as presented by the testicles attempting to adjust to temperature changes, will turn raw fairly quickly. Tighter underwear, briefs or jocks, doesn't allow air in to all areas and loose boxers get damp with perspiration and bunch up, aggravating the problem. Clean and dry throughly.
• Edema. While the CB2K fits very well once the A ring size is properly chosen, I am periodically plagued with the problem of excessive swelling, or edema. I enjoy the tight feeling of a contained erection, but when I have what appears to be large, water filled blisters squeezing out of the cage and testicles swollen to a smooth round ring, that is not a properly fitted A ring. Going a size larger after a couple of days unrestrained freedom works for a few days, then the fit becomes too loose and a loss of security ensues. It is amazing what a sixteenth to an eighth of an inch of interior diameter difference in the A rings means in terms of comfort and security. I very lightly sanded the interior of all of the A rings that will fit me and then used an acrylic polish medium to return the finish to smoothness. This also removed the very small ridge formed during the pouring of the acrylic compound into the mold.
• After seeing this mentioned on Altairboy's page, I sawed through one of the smallest rings on each side of the guide pin holes. I use this as the spacer bar between the A and B rings. It feels much more comfortable than having skin squeezing out of the cage and up between the guide pins and the bushing over the locking pin.

I hope that business is good and that these comments will help in design and upgrades. My keyholder is trying to decide if she is capable of wearing one of the large Keyholder tee shirts in public. If she thinks that she would, I'll order one for her. This is not something that we discuss over espressos with our friends.
