I can tell you two things from my own brief experiences with it:

It is very secure, I have yet been able to extracate myself And believe me, I've managed to get out (at least to the point of being able to masturbate) of just about everything I've ever tried.

It is made of mild steel, so unless you paint it, the dampness from even a few hours wear will cause it to rust. I did paint it, with some Krylon instant dry spray paint, but I have not had the courage to urinate in it. It does weigh some considerable, and will hang down... You'd certainly want to choose your clothing for wear out in public.

I, too, basically found it secure, except one thing, i am small and the velcro strap is not small enuf for my cock and balls. Have already talked to Richard about that and he said that it can be brought or sent in and they can put in a new cock ring which can close tighter.

Before purchasing it, i asked Richard about adding holes for pissing. He said that can be done, but piss will come out thru the bottom hinge because it's partially rounded. They sell with the seed pod a piece of like steel wool material that is for cleaning the seed pod and taking the rust off. He said that unless the rust is on a long time, like months, it should not harm the pod.

You're right about the weight... but it's not too bad. Richard also that a strap for around the waist can be added, if one feels that the weight is too much.

You're also right about tight and form fitting clothing, that would allow the pod to so show some. So in normal public those would have to be avoided. However, if it is a bdsm friendly venue in public, that could be fun. :)
