Hi AB,
I know I know, it's been way too long again. I have been going through a long series of medical side effects, that we think are a result if my accident last year. I have been in so much pain, that I have not felt much like playing. (That means I felt REALLY bad.) Things have improved considerably recently, so my wife and I tried playing again. I found out that the belt actually acts like a brace and reduces the pain. (Or maybe just makes me forget about it?)
Anyway, we saw your posting from Fax on how to increase the security and fit. I cut a piece from aluminum last weekend, and a setting that used to be comfortable, but could be bent out to slip over the hips was now rock solid. Although it was a "trial" fitting, my wife decided to leave me in the belt all weekend. I really put it to the test, as I was running a diesel front end load around the fields all day Sunday. Other than being HOT, the belt was comfortable.
Monday, after being set free to make a new part for the belt, I cut a new piece out of stainless. This took over an hour in my meager shop. Although peoples mileage will vary due to build, the belt 'finally' fits like a glove. It's only been since January that we have been adjusting this thing. Now that we think we have the settings all right, we are considering taking it to Mr. S, the next time I make a trip to the left coast and see if we can hire the metal shop to weld all the pieces out of stainless.
The belt now fits so well that my wife does not plan on taking it off for my next business trip, since I am driving instead of flying. This will be the first time away from home, alone, and away from my trusty tool shop (and safety release tools.) I will let you know how it goes.
By the way, I have found a perfect replacement for the lock that Walter uses. It is the brand name of American, and is Chinese made, marketed by Menard's home improvement stores. Perfect fit, and I have not been able to lock pick one, once it is in place. ( I have tried!) There is a weakness in the design, in that you can get a small pry bar between the bolt and the lock and jimmy it. Obviously, the keyholder will know that the belt has been compromised, but I have come up with a solution for this issue.
Once we know that the belt fits well (for long periods of time, uninterrupted), we plan to weld a thick stainless steel washer on top of the bolt head. This will completely cover the gap between the bolt head and the lock, and make any compromise VERY difficult.
Other adjustments that I have made include covering the front bands with closed cell foam to prevent possible damage below the skin. I plan to replace this closed cell foam with a covering of plasti - dip, once I have tested it for reaction against my skin.
Lastly, we have switched to using A & D ointment for lube inside the tube. This has proven to work well for extended periods. (a solid week is still the record between breaks). The A&D does not wash away like petroleum jelly will after sever showers and baths. It has to be wiped off directly with warm soapy water.
I have seen a slow change in my wife since this experiment began. She used to free me most of the time, when she thought I was seriously asking. Now, she can tell the difference between physical discomfort, and sexual discomfort and has gotten very firm about how and when I am released.
We are trying for baby number two now, but she never knows when she is going to be in the mood to try. Sooo, she is currently keeping me locked up between attempts to make sure I have built up a reserve, and am ready for her when she is in the mood. (I am climbing the walls!)
I know, I know, it comes back to the ol "be careful what you wish for......"
