Some notes about books
The book "Das Band der Venus - Die Geschichte des
Keuschheitsguertels" is about the history of chastity belts
It is written by Alexander Schulz, Copyright 1984
by Andreas Schulz Verlag, 7972 Isny/Allgaeu, Riedbachstrasse 19,
Germany. (The ZIP-code is not valid anymore, I don't know if the
book is still available) There is no ISBN. 67 pages with 22
pictures/drawings
Norbert's remark about the book by Feldhaus is correct
I've found about 8 pages text and 8 pictures in "Illustrierte
Sittengeschichte". I've only seen a shortened reprint published in
the 70s or 80s as a set of 6 paperbacks, in the original print might
be more. The book was written by Eduard Fuchs, first published
in Berlin, Germany 1909.
There are some more books like the one by Fuchs in which chastity belts
are mentioned, but the other ones I've seen do not contain more than one
or two pages about the topic.
---
Different to the above listed books there are novels and stories
about chastity belts. You might find some stories in sex shops but
there seem to be not so many novels which you could buy in normal
bookstores.
The story by Pitigrilli is the only one of them I've got.
He describes a man who is fascinated by the chastity belts
in Cluny. But unable to get such a device he uses three men who
watch each other as a living "chastity belt" for his wife.
---
Another category of books are the ones written in former times.
There is the French book "La vie des dames galantes" by Brantome, who
reports about a merchant selling chastity belts. (First printed ca. 1616)
And of course the "Kyeser-Kodex", 1405, showing the oldest know picture.

Films
Unlike the books there seem to be many stories in which a chastity belt
is mentioned (but I do not know a single one describing chastity belts).
Most of the films are quite silly.
Some of the films on your page could be seen in German TV:
- "The Chastity Belt - On my way to the Crusades ..." as "Der
Keuschheitsguertel"
- "Everything You Always Wanted To Know ..." as "Was Sie schon immer
ueber Sex wissen wollten ... aber bisher nicht zu fragen wagten"
- "Robin Hood: Men In Thights" as "Robin Hood: Maenner in Strumpfhosen"
- "Up the Chastity Belt" as "Runter mit dem Keuschheitsguertel"
Additional films
- "Die Stossburg" by Franz Marischka. A German film about a knight
pretending to go to the crusades but only wents to the next castle
to have fun. Before leaving his wife, his nearly grown up daughter and
his female servant are locked into iron chastity belts. The film was
broadcasted several times by a German TV station. Two of the belts can
be seen quite long. Screen shots
- "Das Spukschloss im Spessart" with Liselotte Pulver. In a scene a knight
leaving for the crusades locks his wife in a chastity belt, but she steals
the key before he is out of the door. The film has been on German TV
several times. The iron belt is showed for some seconds only.
- "Hattu Keuschheitsguertel muttu knabbern" in which an artist pretends an
interest to paint a young female without clothing but she has been locked
into a chastity belt. The film might have been published under a different
name and might be of Italien origin. The German version could be seen on
video. The belt seems to be leather with some metal parts between
the legs of the woman.
- There is a Western about a man, who made Chinese letters as tattoos on
the backsides of some prostitutes. By reading all these letters a treasure
could be found. One of the women now lives with a Reverend who keeps her
in a chastity belt. The film could be seen several times on German TV.
The iron chastity belt is shown for some seconds.
- "High Crusade - Frikassee im Weltraum". A German film with Ray Cokes
based on the novel by Poul Anderson. An UFO comes down near a castle in
medieval times. The knight and his men conquer it. The knight plans to use
the UFO for a crusade but his wife only supports the plan if all the
inhabitants of the castle are admitted to come on board and the knight
is willing to wear a chastiy belt to which she has the key. Later the
belt saves the parts of the knight from being damaged in a battle.
The film could be seen in Cinemas, on TV and on video in the 90s. The
iron chastity belt is shown for some seconds. In the book the belt is
not mentioned.
- There is a film about a man leaving his wife locked in a chastity belt.
He made the lover of his wife swear not to touch the belt. But another
gentleman and his servant are able to open the belt for him. The film
might be of Italien origin and could be seen on German TV. The woman in
the metal belt is shown quite long.
- In another film a knight back from the crusades has totally forgotten
his wife's chastity belt. He is quite horny but is stopped by the belt.
He has lost the key. On his way back from the locksmith from whom he lent
some keys he sees a nice looking girl. At once he drops the key and
goes after the girl. Could be seen on German TV several years ago.
- "Der Schluessel" is a TV production released in the former German
Democratic Republik. I only saw the last part of it in which something
about a chastity belt was said. It was broadcasted at the beginning of
the 90s.
- In a film which was shown in a normal cinema in the 80s three women are
captured seperately. They find themselves nude only wearing metal chastity
belts in an oriental harem waiting for there new owner to remove the
belts.
- In one film which has been broadcasted on German TV a woman is searching
for her sister with the help of a prostitude. In a scene a poster
advertising another film is shown. On this poster a woman wearing only a
chastity belt is shown and the title is "Chastity and the Starlets" by
Rainbow Video. On the poster an unused chastity belt is shown as well
underlined with "Her only problem was her belt".
- There is a film about some people at a beach. One of the girls is
wearing a chastity belt.
- In the book "Grausamkeit und Sexualitaet" by Roland Villeneuve,
Rixdorfer Verlagsanstalt GmbH, Berlin, Germany, 1988 (original French
title "Le Musee des Supplices", Paris, 1968) there is a picture showing
several chastity belts with English descriptions. It is underlined with
"Der Keuschheitsguertel, seine Form, sein Gebrauch (Anzeige eines
amerikanischen Films "Olgas Maedchen")". In the Internet Movie Database
Ltd. I've found the film "Olga's Girls" USA 1964 by Joseph P. Mawra.

Chastity belts on display
(Not including 2 belts in "Cluny", Paris, the belt in Italy mentioned
elsewhere in your web pages, and the belt in Salzburg, Austria, mentioned
on the website), I've seen:

Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany
- 2 chastity belts at "Schloß Erbach", Erbach/Odenwald, Germany
- 2 chastity belts have been at "ZAM - Zentrum fuer aussergewoehnliche
Museen". It is now placed at the Westenrieder Straße 41, Munich, Germany.
There should be:
- 1 chastity belt at "Deutsches Schloss- und Beschlaegemuseum" Velbert,
Germany, referred to in the book "Der Schluessel im Wandel der Zeit"
by Jean-Josef Brunner, 1988
- 1 chastity belt at "Ringkjobing Museum", Danmark.
