Enjoy you site very much. I took this photograph in Niagra Falls at the 'Ripleys Believe it or Not' museum.
I took it in late summer this year. I can't remember what the details were .. too bad. It does look a little home-made (must of hurt like hell if it was real).
98-Dec-04: Another reader volunteered the following information:
I went to Niagara Falls, Canada last summer and saw this CB. I remember just a bit more about it. The little spring-like things you see around the top have prickly little whiskers pointing toward the skin. When the woman would put on her long skirt (as was worn in those days), those whiskers would be pushed into the skin. This was a punitive belt designed for adulteresses and similar, as I recall. Wonderful museum, by the way.
