Hi Altairboy,
It has been a number of months since my last contribution to this great web-site. First we must thank you for making this page available and congratulate you for reaching the first 1/2 million visitors. It will probably take much less time to reach the second half. CONGRATULATIONS!
Much has happened in Henry's household. Due to major illness I was prevented from being belted for almost 5 months. I actually thought that my belted life was over. But as I gained my strength back and things got more normal, my wife broached the subject and indicated that she would be more comfortable if I would again wear the belt when not in her presence. I must admit that I was not exactly elated by this idea as I recalled the many times when I wished I could remove the belt and be free and I also enjoyed the regained freedom.
After some discussion I finally agreed to again be "protected". We decided that the Walter Goethals belt would be disposed of as it created too many problems in spite of it's capabilities to be adjusted and that I would wear, as before, primarily the William Jones belt or a like product. We also agreed that I should never be belted any longer then 7 days at which time I should get at least get a few hours off.
While I was ill, I had a lot of time to cruise the web and read all the stories about the different people who dream of being belted or are actually belted and the many descriptions of belts that are made commercially or made by some creative individual for his own needs.
One common problem became evident:
Most belts do not fit. I am convinced that most people are very diligent in the taking of the required measurements and the manufactures, i.e. Tollyboy, Wm.Jones, W. Goethals and Access Denied, have developed their own formula on how to use these measurements to make every belt fit. One thing none of these manufacturers can know: the distribution of the prospective buyer's body mass. This is different from person to person and is most likely the major reason why belts do not fit.
I had the opportunity to wear belts from the first three manufacturers mentioned above and have communicated with owners of belts made by A.D. and it seems that they are encountering the same problems. My Tollyboy belt never fitted well and I was, due to third party involvement, not able to get it adjusted. The belts made by Wm. Jones and Walter Goethals were made exactly according to my measurements and both had to be returned for adjustments. Bill Jones and Walter Goethals were most accommodating in dealing with the changes and both belts ultimately fit me extremely well.
I have explored the possibilities of purchasing a new belt as my Wm. Jones belt starts to show its age. I would require some minor adjustments to the standard models to better meet my needs and body contours. I explored this with Wm. Jones, Neosteel, and Access Denied. All three are willing to make adjustments. Actually Wm. Jones and Neosteel were very helpful with additional suggestions and would make the adjustments at little or no additional cost. Access Denied was reluctantly willing to meet my special needs, but at considerable additional cost.
So my choice has been narrowed down to William Jones who has made excellent belts for the last 10 years and who has been during that time the best source of belts and has continuously responded in a very friendly and accommodating fashion to all the problems or needs I had, or the "new kid on the block", Neosteel, who has also responded in an extremely friendly and accommodating fashion to all my questions but whose product at this time is not very well known.
I thought that these observations might be of interest to your readers.
Henry
