I am to remain belted for the next 6 months 24/7. I will be released only about 6 times during this period to service Mrs. Bard and the belt will be reinstalled moments after I am finished. I have 3 belts: Access Denied, Jones and the Walter, and the SCC Birdcage. I will be spending the lion’s share of this time in the A.D. and Jones belts because of a somewhat serious problem I have had with the Walter and Birdcage. Perhaps your readers would like to know about my experiences.
In brief, I have experienced problems with edema (swelling) of the penis whenever I am in the Walter or Birdcage for longer than 24 hours or so. The skin actually swells with accumulated moisture, a layer of skin peels off (not unlike a sunburn), and the area becomes moist and somewhat sticky. It takes a week or so to heal. I know that this can occur as an allergic reaction, and I had thought that I was having such a reaction to the cream I used while in the Walter. But it also happened when I changed creams, or when I used no cream at all. And it also happened in the Birdcage. So I no longer think it is an allergy.
Edema can also occur when there is a reduced circulation to an area, especially an appendage. While the Jones and A.D. design depends on a tight waistband to hold a somewhat loose tube around the penis, the Walter and the Birdcage use a tight seal around the penis or the base of the penis to avoid withdrawal. I think this reduces the circulation enough so that, over time, there is an accumulation of water in these tissues. My medical dictionary calls this “passive” edema caused by an obstruction to drainage from the area.
I am currently wearing the Jones. Mrs. Bard will allow me to wear the cage or Walter only for short periods of 12 hours or less once every week or so as she does not want the edema to force my freedom. I will try to loosen the Walter a little to see if that improves the situation. But there is not much I can do about the cage except buy a bigger one.
