Here is my idea for locating replacements for mild steel 'D' rings which are currently used in cbs. (William Jones uses a Split D ring approximately 7/8 x 1/2).
At your local marine supply, in the fastenings department there is a selection of 'stainless steel 'D' rings which are used for boat coverings (namely for bimini top hold-down straps) and other marine applications where rust resistance is essential.
The marine 'D' ring sizes range from 1/2" to 2" (width) and costs from $0.35 to $0.75 each. Mounting flanges are available too. It would not be to difficult to research the address of the wholesale supplier or mfg...
The marine supply store I refer to is, West Marine, Inc. which is a nation wide chain retail marine equipment and hardware supplies store. So perhaps there may be one located near you.
