The best chastity belt to use for long term is stainless steel. Any metal other than this will rust or tarnish with long term wear. Some things to consider are as follows: going to the washroom, taking a shower, sleeping, working, and personal hygiene.

The Chastity belt should be designed with holes for excrement and urine. The cleaning process afterwards does take a few minutes. Be prepared to get a little on your hands when cleaning. Taking a shower takes a few times to get used to, but should become a routine after a while. Just be sure to wash under the metal surface.

Sleeping is a little uncomfortable, but once again you can get used to it. The lock on the back can be a little uncomfortable. It is better to have one on the front or side. Working, I just hope you can wear baggy clothing. Try to avoid going to the washroom at work, because the stalls are small and a little uncomfortable for the extra cleaning needed. The personal hygiene never became an issue for me, because I only wore it for a week and never passed through that time of the month. I can't really see any problems though.

You can use leather, but water will cause it to stretch, and the dye to possibly run. Brass is not recommended due to tarnishing and skin discoloring with long term wear.
