CB3K security / comfort solutions

Trapped-ball devices tend to chafe a lot. I have found that wearing a "scrunchy" hair tie behind the A-ring makes the CB-3000 much more comfortable for long term-wear. I've seen them sold in packs of three in dollar stores across the country, so it's very cheap to stock up on them. They come in cute colors, too -- I have pink hearts and purple leopard print! I usually wash them out by hand in the shower with a little face soap, and let them air-dry on my closet shelf. They survive fine in the washing machine and dryer, too.

As to the security problem, I purchased a 3/4" 6-ga acrylic "seamless" ring from my local body-piercing shop. It does not have a captive bead, but has a round arc that is removalbe to allow insertion. It only cost about $12.00. After putting it in, I used a drop of solvent-based acrylic cement on each side of the arc to permanently secure it in place. Keep it away from your flesh until the solvent has fully evaporated!

I also made a simple lasso out of a pair of nylon spacers and some heavy fishing line. I drilled 1/16" holes through the sides of the spacers, then ground out part of the inside edge to allow space for a knot. I passed the fishing line through the outside of the spacer, and knotted it securely on the inside. The spacers slip onto the cage posts, and it's impossible to remove or replace the line without removing the cage.

When putting on the cage, I simply slip the fishing line through the glued ring, and use it to pull myself into the cage. The spacers go over the posts of the cage portion, and the cage is locked on. This absolutely prevents me from pulling out of the cage.

The attached photograph shows both the plastic ring and a purple hair scrunchy. The fishing-line lasso is invisible in the photo (a nice bonus over other solutions I've seen).

As a bonus, the ring helps keep my urethra lined up with the cage slot, so that I no longer "miss" it and make a mess. It also serves as a convenient attachment point for leashes, etc.

Hope that helps someone out there,

- Boots
