My New CB-3000

Submitted by: boots

Well, it's been a few weeks and I'm feeling pretty comfortable with my new CB-3000 (I ordered just the cage part). I have a few thoughts on it that I thought I'd share.

First, it's very attractive. My wife/KH told me to order the CB-3000 cage as soon as I showed it to her. She has never been very pleased with the look of the CB-2000, and we were both disappointed that I was able to touch so much of my skin in it. She says the new CB-3000 looks much more attractive, and she likes the way it looks and feels on me.

Speaking of looks, she says that she thinks that many women dislike the look of the Florentine-style belts on men. She says our lines are wrong for the waist-belt and T-shape of the belts. Any agreement or argument from you ladies out there? Although I personally like waist-belt styles for security, I think she may have a good point.

I really like the fit of the CB-3000. It's more comfortable to wear than the CB2000, mostly due to the smaller profile of the B-ring against the scrotum. The cage is smaller in diameter than the CB-2000, which is nice too. The drainage slot on the end is effective, and the ventilation slots seem to be sufficient to prevent buildup of sweat in the cage. I believe it can be worn for long periods of time (at least a month or more) without any major issues or problems arising.

As to the workmanship, like their other products, the CB-3000 cage did come with lots of sharp edges, both inside and outside, that needed to be ground out and polished. The cage itself is made from two pieces of clear plastic joined down the length of the cage. The joint on mine was slightly open, leaving small gaps in the "entrance" part of the cage. I decided to fill these gaps, and also prevent the pieces from snapping apart, by filling the seam with clear 2-part epoxy. I used a hypodermic needle (20ga) to inject the epoxy into the seam on the outside, and then ground it flat and polished it with acrylic polish. For the price, I am disappointed that I had to clean up the sharp mold lines and other defects in this product. I have had to do this on every product that I have ordered from the Millers.

My three major complaints with wearing the CB-3000 so far:

  • The inside of the cage needs to be lubricated during wear. I'm a "grow-er", not a "show-er", so I often found myself jammed into the top of the cage. Not painful, but annoying and uncomfortable. A few drops of silicone lubricant spread on the inside of the cage makes it easier to put on and allows my penis to slip down into the cage. It's easy to add more through the top ventilation holes when needed, e.g. after a shower. I would recommend against baby oil -- silicone seems to be better for the skin (it's used in various dry-skin lotions), and it lasts longer under normal wear.

  • The CB-3000 cage is fairly straight. It would be easier to hide, and possibly more comfortable, if it had a slight curvature (say about 15 degrees) along the length of it. Under tight clothes, it tends to be levered down, pressing the A-ring into the skin behind my scrotum and rapidly rubbing it raw. Regardless, it is certainly less bulky than and produces a more natural outline under clothes than the CB-2000.

  • Although the CB-3000 cage is much more restrictive in terms of being able to touch my penis, I still am able to pull out of it (especially since it needs to be kept lubricated). I believe it might be possible to reduce or prevent this somewhat by extending the top of the cage back towards the pelvis with a custom-built spacer, but I haven't tried it yet.

Security is as good or better than the CB-2000. I wear my CB-3000 with a 1"-diameter 6-ga curved barbell in my P.A. piercing. The horseshoe-shaped barbell is just the right size to fit through the drainage slot at the bottom of the cage, and the large balls on the end of the jewelry prevent it from being pulled through the slot. This prevents pull-out, and helps to keep my penis correctly inside the cage. It also directs urine out of the cage more effectively (like hanging a chain from a gutter). Of course, it adds only as much security as the difficulty in removing the barbell. I plan to replace it with a heavy-gauge captive ring, so that I would at least have to enlist another person's help to pull out of the cage. Unfortunately, the cage makes a distinctive hollow clicking noise when the barbell knocks against it. I haven't found a good solution to this problem yet.

All in all, I definitely recommend upgrading from the CB-3000. Both I and my wife are very pleased with it, and it is definitely much more attractive than the other CB-products from the Millers. Like others on the list, I've had little luck with the comfort of the hinged rings used in the curve. It would probably be worth ordering a solid ring or two with it (I'm told they can be bought separately for about $10 USD each). Don't forget to fill and smooth the sharp edges.

Cheers,

- Boots
