Comfort of William Jones Belt

Submited by: Henry

I thought I would share some of the things that can help improve the wearing comfort of the Jones Belt. While I have never set out to be the person that wears the belt for a very long time, I have been belted on a regular basis for the last eight months. Usualy for six days and then a day or so off. The longest was close to three weeks. With this I have gained some experience in how to make the belt more comfortable.

Measurements: If your chains can fall into your crack when lying on the side, then they are too loose and your shield will wear too low between your legs and will chafe. Your belt should be tight enough that it can not slide over your hips and not rest on your hips but clearly on your waist. It should however not be so tight, that it "cuts" you in half.

Underwear: To add to the wearing comfort, I tuck my t-shirt or undershirt into the belt. Make sure that you have no folds over the hips. You can move the shirt up and down during the day and therefore remain dry under the belt. I found that Jockey-Pouch underpants with the long legs are best. They fit relatively tight around your legs and form a lining between the shield and the legs and therefore eliminate the chafing. Black or gray are the best as you will not see the markings from the neoprene lining on the underwear.

I hope that these observations will add to the wearing comfort of your c.b.. By the way, Bill Jones is very accomodating when making adjustments to your belt.
