Hi AB, Well, it looks like my adjustment period to the belt is over. My wife has taken on a new found enjoyment in keeping me in this belt 24 hours a day. I have been locked into this belt solid, since last Friday, with the exception of a few hours Tuesday, to check and relube.
She wants to find a small grease gun that will get into "tight places", so that the belt will not need to be removed for lubrication. We have located a shop that will weld the stainless steel washer to the top of the locking bolt, and this work will be done the next time the belt comes off. This thick steel washer covers the lock, shackle, and surrounding area, making any attempt to jimmy the shackle useless. It may be possible, after a long time with machine tools to bypass the lock, but it would not be easy.
This means that the only safety will be to actually cut the belt off. This, also would not be easy to do, and since we had to wait so long for it to arrive, she knows that I would never do this unless the conditions were dire.
It is getting easier to sleep at night, but I still wake up several times, and have to get up and walk around until things "settle down".
I have no idea when she plans to let me out next. She is having fun teasing me in the mornings and evenings, getting ready for the day, or for bed, by walking around in just her jeans. Talk about driving me nuts!
