Well, I returned from business this weekend, and was put back into my belt by my wife. This lasted until yesterday morning when the unexpected happened. The weld between the bottom of the locking plate and the tube failed completely! This was obviously not a good development, as I will need to send the whole works back to Walter for repair.
There is a good side to this event though. We tried securing the waist band to the locking plate as is, and found that there was a very comfortable setting, that will still not allow the waistband to be pulled over my hips. What I really need to have this belt adjusted properly is to have Walter add about one or two inches to the distance between the bottom of the locking plate to the top of the tube. So, as disappointing as this development is, it should turn out for the best in the end.
I will call Walter at lunch-time today, and find out what I need to do to send this "gift" back for repair. I will keep you appraised of the "return arrangements".
