The SCC BirdCage

Review by: Altairboy

The device is suprisingly comfortable when you are flaccid. When you wake up with that morning erection, it will HURT!.

When you start to become aroused, the cage prevents a complete erection and the tissue begins to bulge out between the large ring and the cage. For me, this is extremely uncomfortable, even painful.

Long term users claim that you learn not to come erect, a type of bio-feedback, after a week of wearing the device.

Someone wrote me and asked:

My next piece of hardware's likely going to be the SCC bird cage, and your photos and short review were very well timed. I'd like very much to hear what difficulties and advantages there are to this device. Security and comfort have become more important to me. I'd also like to hear about your ordering experience (turnaround time, was it what you expected, etc.)

The Cage is very secure. And seems difficult to properly size. Several people have requested different size rings or cages. The relative comfort of the device is very high when standing, but less so when sitting or lying down, especially on your stomach.

While wearing the device, it hangs down instead of projecting forward as I was worried it might. The cage completely contains and prevents an erection. I go from maybe 2" to 6" at full erection (I know, nothing to brag about) - and when the 2-1/2" cage blocks the growth, the tissue begins to try to swell out between the cage bars, and between the ring on the cage and the larger ring behind the balls. That space is only a 1/8" or so, and my tender skin gets pinched easily there.

I wore it about 30 hours and took it off. I have a rather angry looking sore area where the ball sac was "pinched" between the large and small ring. 36 hours later, it's still pretty tender, but healing. I noticed a bit of swelling of the ball sac, especially after an attempt to become erect. It gave me a feeling of congestion in the groin.

Later I noticed the large ring is reversable, which increased the clearance between the cage to nearly 3/16". This eliminated the pinching and increased the clearance where the ball sac was being pinched between the ring and the cage.

I do know that another user has worn his for 10 days, and he finds it comfortable enough to play a round of golf. Another user wears his for weeks at a stretch, with a break on the weekends.

The advantages are - it's generally more comfortable and much less metal than a full c-belt. I believe it to be even more secure than the metal belts. The lead time is 4-6 weeks or so. When I got mine, I was suprised at how small it looked. Yet it's plenty large enough to get me in trouble! Like cbelts, the process of putting it on almost requires you to j/o before you start - so you can get rid of the erection - I find putting on belts or cages gets me stiff - which of course interferes with installing the devices.
